Benjamin John Black was arrested and charged with one count of murder in relation to an alleged incident at a quiet Port Macquarie neighbourhood on Friday, May 4.
Black appeared before Magistrate Price.
Police will allege on Friday, May 4 at about 12.40pm an altercation occurred between Black and the victim in the vicinity of Beacon Court and Rushcutter Way, Port Macquarie.
Police will also allege the victim, a resident of Port Macquarie, suffered a critical stab wound to his chest.
When police arrived at the scene with the support of emergency services personnel, they allegedly found the victim in a serious condition. The victim was transported to Port Macquarie Base Hospital where he later died.
Black is scheduled to reappear before Port Macquarie Local Court on September 6, 2018. He will remain in custody.
