ANZ ATMs will remain in Wauchope and Laurieton, either at the current branch locations or nearby.
The Wauchope branch will close on September 12, and the Laurieton branch will close on October 4.
ANZ General Manager NSW/ACT, Amanda Heath-Ogden said customers in Wauchope and Laurieton are increasingly choosing online options and ATMs as their main source of banking, which reflects a broader trend in the community as more services move online.
“These have been difficult decisions and we apologise for the inconvenience we know this will cause some of our customers,” she said.
“Of our customers who have Wauchope as their home branch, only 12 per cent of them currently use the branch as their main banking source with 66 per cent of them preferring internet or mobile banking.
“It is similar for our customers who have Laurieton as their home branch with only 20 per cent of them currently using the branch while 59 per cent of them prefer internet or mobile banking.”
ANZ have written to their customers to let them know about the closure and that they can continue their banking through options such as Bank@Post, online banking and via the ANZ app on their mobile device.
“We encourage customers to speak to the team at their local branch as soon as they can to learn about which banking options are best for them,” added Ms Heath-Ogdon.
“We are consulting the staff members who currently work at the branch and are supporting them through this transition while making every effort to find them redeployment opportunities with ANZ.”
