A report will be presented to the July 18 council meeting with an update about the Bicentenary Working Group.
The Bicentenary Working Group has been developing an approach to activities between 2018 and 2021 to mark the historic period in our region’s development.
The council report said over the period from 2018 to 2021, the council is looking to help the community come together to commemorate this milestone and celebrate our rich and diverse region - the history, the heritage and people who make our region what it is.
“A key element of the bicentenary celebrations is to support community-led events,” the report said.
A bicentenary grants stream has been established to support community-led bicentenary events and projects as part of the 2017/18 Community Grants funding round two.
The council meeting begins at 5.30pm on July 18 at the Burrawan Street council chambers.
