A police spokesman said it happened at 11.15am.
“A Nissan Navara, travelling west on King Creek Road near Berowra Place, for unknown reasons at this stage, crossed on to the incorrect side of the road and hit a 25-year-old man on a motorcycle heading east,” said the police spokesman.
“As a result, the motorcyclist sustained significant injuries to his legs, and was brought to Port Macquarie Base Hospital. He is being assessed and it is expected that he will be flown to John Hunter hospital in Newcastle,” added the police spokesman.
All the emergency services attended, and a crash investigation unit remained at the scene, conducting an investigation to try to establish how the accident happened.
The man who was driving the Nissan Navara has gone for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
