The Mustangs were forced to forfeit, as they didn’t have the senior player numbers available to take the field.
The rugby league club was fined $1000 three weeks ago when they forfeited their match on gameday against the Forster-Tuncurry Hawks.
The decision to pull out from the contest ahead of matchday prevents the club from facing another fine.
Despite not having a senior side taking the field on Saturday, as the Mustangs dropped their reserve grade side two months ago, the Mustangs will be allowed to play in the Under-18.5s and Ladies League Tag.
“There could have been the possibility of stopping their lower grades from playing,” Group Three Rugby League chief executive Barrie Smith said.
“But we want to support the club and we believe permitting them to play will help the club in the future.”
The Mustangs Under-18.5s and Ladies League Tag are both in finals contention with three rounds remaining in the season proper.
