David Martin wrote the biography to bring Ambrose Carr’s legacy to people’s attention.
“He totally loved the place and the history and embraced being a resident of the Hastings,” Mr Martin said.
“He was a real Aussie and an adopted son, you might say, from Moree.”
Ambrose’s artistic legacy ranges from local history to landscapes and rural and other general Australiana.
Some 20 of Ambrose’s paintings, plus a mural, were on display at Port Macquarie Public School on July 7.
