Despite having Arnold Turnbull and Alex Pearce in the sin-bin at various times and captain Beau Kettle and Chris Hanlon injured, the Blues held on.
“What more could I ask for, they came together as a team, worked as a team and won as a team,” Kettle said.
Scores were locked at 16-all at the break after the Dragons jumped out to an early 12-0 lead.
Three tries in six minutes put the Blues back in front until just before half-time when James Mumford raced 80 metres to tie the scores up.
Earlier, Laurieton Stingrays were too good for Comboyne in a 54-14 win.
The Stingrays led 24-4 at the break and went on with it in the second stanza.
Kendall also turned out in a strong showing for young Rory Turnbull and his parents, Aimee and Arnold.
After the game, a small auction was held to raise funds and awareness for premature babies, in particular for young Turnbull.
