You'd be correct in assuming it is casting of the fishing kind, with more than 80 competitors to converge from around the country and New Zealand.
President general of the Australian Anglers Association, Bob Smith, said being a precise caster in an art.
"For example in our four ounce category the record is 209 metres which, you can imagine it being more than two football fields, is quite impressive," he said.

"We have a few different categories of casting. There's an accuracy event where competitors throw at different length targets.
"Basically they have four targets and two attempts at casting. They have to land the sinker within a circle of that target and the closest to the bullseye wins."
All measurements are done by surveyors and are percentaged off the longest cast, from 100% down.
At the end of the tournament scores are tallied up and a number of champions are crowned including junior, veteran ladies, veteran mens, ladies and mens.
It concludes on Tuesday. Monday is individual events and Tuesday is the teams events.
