The money will be used to continue the rescue service’s flights to the Mid-North Coast.
The Wauchope Lions Club also made a significant donation to the cause – $1000.
The lamington drive in May realised some 731.5 dozen lamingtons created and delivered – that’s one and half lamingtons for each person living in Wauchope.
So far the support group has produced 63,912 single lamingtons over the past 11 years. This equates to 5326 dozen lamingtons.
That is a lot of coconut and chocolate dipped cake squares.
Meanwhile the support group volunteers will next be fundraising at the annual Truck Show at Wauchope Showground. The group will be cooking its delicious steak sandwiches, sausage sandwiches and bacon and egg sandwiches at its barbeque shed.
In Kempsey, Peter Farley donated $11,250 to the service. The money was raised at last year’s annual Blue Moon Bull Riding event in November and brings the total amount raised by the bull riding fundraiser to around $50,000.
Peter raises money for the rescue service because the Westpac Rescue Helicopter saved his life in 2011 after a bull riding accident where Peter sustained serious head injuries
Mr Farley said giving back to the community is why he continues to organise the event.
“It’s really to give back to the community with the one thing I know a lot about,” Mr Farley said.
“You never know who is going to need the helicopter service.”
