The Breakers skipper will run out in his 150th game for the club as they aim to strengthen their grip on the Group 3 first grade minor premiership.
It is a remarkable achievement when you consider only a handful of those games have been in reserve grade since he joined the club 10 years ago.
The rest have all been in the top grade.
“I can’t remember much of the first game, but in 2007 we were beaten in the grand final and since then we’ve played in 10 of the next 12 grand finals,” Daley said.
“It’s a pretty special milestone because when you get to 100 you become a life member and only three or four others have played more games than me.”
Josh Hyde, Brock Baird, Mat Woods and Mitch Fowler have also reached the 150-game mark.
In Daley’s first year with the club, Port City changed their name to the Breakers to align themselves with their juniors.
Before then, they had been known as the Cavaliers and a change in name coincided with the club’s golden run.
Daley has won three premierships with the Breakers – in 2010, 2016 and 2017 – with one eye on making it four by September.
But the Breakers have always focused on “one game at a time” and won’t be looking any further than the clash with the Blues.
“The Breakers-Wauchope rivalry is a traditional one,” Daley said.
“I had a look at the calendar at the start of the year and thought I could get to 150 so it’s good it’s come up against them.
“It’s also one versus two on the ladder, so it’s an important game.”
The Breakers will also look to stay on top of the ladies league tag ladder when they clash with the second-placed Blues at 11.30am.
Under-18s kicks off at 12.35pm, before the Breakers and Wauchope clash in reserve grade at 1.50pm in a first-versus-third battle.
Kick off in first grade is 3pm.
