Held at Oxley Oval, Tonning set a new mark in the 10-years boys 100-metre sprint.
His time of 14.53 seconds beat the previous record held by Joel Asher more than 20 years ago when he set the bar at 14.62 seconds in 1995.
There was a lot of fun and cheering but it all got serious in the mad dash for the finish line.
