Her dedication to the club netted her the Young Volunteer of the Year Award for Surf Life Saving at the Mid North Coast Awards of Excellence this month.
The year 11 St Joseph's Regional College student loves surf life saving.
"I've been involved for four years and was in nippers but started late," she said.
"The award is a lot of recognition. It made me so happy to have my hard work recognised.
"I like patrolling and helping out where I can, especially the nippers. I was out every weekend volunteering because I enjoy it so much."
Fortunately Stella has not been involved in any major rescues, but has committed much of her time to passing on her knowledge to the younger brigade.
"The nippers look up to me and it makes me feel pretty good," she said.
"I love teaching them to spot rips and to swim properly in the ocean.
"We have had some big incidents in Port Macquarie with rips over the last year, so I think it is very important to teach the nippers about the ocean and how it works.
Stella thanked club president Michelle Garvin, her mum and the entire club for the support.
"The whole club is like a family," she said.
