He carries the ball 120 metres on average.

Already claiming big tournament wins all around Australia and the world, the youngster is about to embark on a trip to the United States to play in two world championships.

Currently living in the Newcastle area, Harry's father Justin, and grandparents Shane and Josie Preece, were born-and-bred in Wauchope, meaning the young star is no stranger to a Port Macquarie golf course.

In July of 2017, Harry claimed the 5-6 years division of the World Stars of Junior Golf tournament  at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort by six shots, before finishing second in the seven years and under section at the American Athletic Union Olympic Games event at the Legends Golf Club in Temecula, California.

On July 4, Harry and his dad will board a plane bound for the US where he hopes to defend his World Stars of Junior Golf title as well as compete in the IMG World Championships in San Diego.

The first event runs from July 9 to 13, then a quick couple of days of sight seeing before focusing on the next event that runs July 16 to 20. 

He will go up against close to 60 others at IMG, and around 30 others at Vegas. There will be more than 2000 players at each event across all age groups.

"When he was a baby Harry would come out with my brother and I and would crawl around in bunkers," Justin said. 

"His uncle, was a professional golfer (Mitchell Harry) and he bought Harry his first club. It all started from there.

"He only started with a coach 12 months ago. Before that it was all learning from watching TV and practising."

Harry absolutely loves golf. There is no doubt it comes naturally to the youngster, but perhaps his strongest attribute is his mental toughness.

"He gets out there and goes from a seven year old kid to a 77 year old man," he said.

"He's very calm and collected, especially compared to the behaviour of some other kids."

That included one young player who took his shoe off and threw it at his dad. 

For Harry, doing such a thing never crosses his mind. He is focused on his next shot, and raising funds to get to the US next month.

The family were selling raffle tickets at the Wauchope Golf Club at the weekend to raise money for the entry fees and travel.

Harry said his favourite thing about golf was off the course rather than on it.

"I like meeting new friends the most," he said.

"The best place I have played is Las Vegas and I'm really excited to go over there again. I've been working on a few things with my coach, like not swaying my hips."

He said the Crown Plaza is his favourite Australian course. He has set himself goals for the upcoming US tournaments.

"I am aiming for top 25 at San Diego and top five at Las Vegas," he said.
