Tough from the get go, Port lost two players to injury and slipped to a 3-1 deficite at the break before fighting back in the second half to finish level at 3-all.
Camejo's young squad was unable to match the intensity of the Wildcats in the opening stanza.
"We were up against a solid team. They are physical, technical and fit," he said. "They made us work hard."
And work they did. Despite Sam Bailey equalising it proved a tough opening 45.
It became tougher when Camejo was forced to bring on two 15 year olds to replace injured duo Bailey Pascoe and Logan Palmer.
"But I'm proud of the boys. They never gave up the fight, even at 3-1 down," he said.
"We had the better of the second half. The under 16s that I brought on did a great job."
Saints' second goal was scored by Michael Bishop and was one to remember, with a cracking shot to the top corner from 20 metres out beating the keeper.
It was followed by Bailey's second equaliser of the match. Saints will face Macleay Valley away from home this Saturday, June 30.
