A rising country music star, Blake is forging a strong career that now includes an appearance on the ARIA charts.
He released his newest album, a self-titled EP, recently. The original song, Travelin’ Man, has received high praise from country music star Adam Brand.
Blake sits second on the ARIA charts for Australian country artists. His album is fourth on the country international album list, 11th on the Australian artist album list and fourth on the independent label album list.
These achievements are a result of a young man who has worked tirelessly.
“I'm very busy, pretty flat out to be honest,” Blake said.
“I'll be doing some festivals over the coming months that include the Gimpy Music Muster, Ballina Country Music Festival, The Brisbane Ekka and Tunes on the Turn near Dubbo so it’s a lot of travel.
“But I love it and I wouldn't want to do anything else.”
Blake will perform close to home at the Coastal Country Music Festival on August 4 in Wauchope.
“Not too many places are into country music in this area so to have something like this so close to home is awesome,” he said.
Blake recently returned from a Cairns to Towoomba tour with superstars Adam Eckersley and Brooke McClymont.
"We played eight shows in nine days. It was hectic but it was good fun,” he said.
“They were touring their new album and I've been supporting them a fair bit.
“I had no expectations (of success on the tour). But the response from the crowds was really good. I've had good sales on my CD's and they've all given me great feedback.
“I was just hoping people would want to listen to my music.”
And listen to it they did. His new album is currently the number one on the air album for 100 per cent independent albums. On iTunes, the album peaks at number two in the country section.
His new song features the lyrics: “I’m a travelin’ man from show to show. Nothing can slow me down, I can’t take my eyes off the road.”
Those are words he plans to live by in 2019.
“I’d like to book in a tour soon. I want to play in as many places as possible next year,” he said.
“The best way to get fans and recognition is going to as many places as possible. If people hear you live, meet you and interact they are more likely to support your journey."
