In the end they cruised to a 62-6 victory over the Hawks that solidified the defending premiers’ position on the top rung of the Group 3 first grade ladder.
They are going to take some beating.
The Breakers led 28-0 at the break and it could easily have been 50 by the time both teams headed to the sheds.
It was more of the same in the second half as prop Richie Roberts turned into a tryscoring machine, scoring a hat-trick in the 11-tries-to-one romp.
Despite the ease at which they cruised to victory, captain Adrian Daley said there was still plenty to work on.

“All due respect to Forster, they came out and gave their all.
“It’s a difficult one to stay in the grind, but you’ve got to do it for 80 minutes especially when you come up against the harder teams.
“You want to know how to play for the whole 80 minutes.”
The match was a good chance for the Breakers to work on combinations with the finals only a month and a half away.
“It’s good to actually have an opposition to run things against, really that’s all you can get out of it,” Daley said.
“[We’ve got a few new] combinations with new halves and centres there.”
On a chilly day in Port Macquarie, it was little surprise the Breakers took the best part of 70 minutes to do the things they normally do well.
That’s what you play throughout the year for, to finish up in the top positions and get the big games at home.

“You can see that when you play simple footy and fast footy that you make yards so that’s one positive we can take out of the game,” Daley said.
“There were good things throughout the game, there were some not so good things throughout the game, but we got it done in the end.”
Despite not suffering defeat in almost two years, Daley said the Breakers weren’t getting tired of winning.
“Definitely not; we play footy to win and I don’t think anyone likes losing,” he said.
They have now set their sights on claiming home ground advantage for the season decider.
“We’ve got five games before the finals,” Daley said.
“That’s what you play throughout the year for, to finish up in the top positions and get the big games at home.”
