It would appear a tough mountain to climb for the Wauchope side who currently sit on six competition points and anchor the competition ladder.
However, they did cause a stunning boil-over on May 26 with a 2-1 win over the Port United side.
That win by Wauchope rocked the Port-based side.
Wallis Lake is currently sitting at the top of the ladder with 19 points.
Wallis has secured six wins, a draw and had a bye and scored 19 goals while conceding just three goals.
At the other end of the scale, Wauchope has secured just one win, lost six and had the bye.
Wauchope has scored 10 goals, the equal fewest in the competition and conceded 23 goals, the second highest.
However, the Wauchope side will no doubt put plenty of pressure on the Wallis Lake side.
Meanwhile, in other round 9 match ups, Camden Haven Redbacks are at home to the Taree Wildcats; Kempsey Saints will take on cross town rivals Macleay Rangers and Tuncurry Forster are at home to the Port United side.
Port Saints FC will enjoy the bye.
Premier League ladder: Wallis Lake 19; Macleay Valley Rangers 18; Taree Wildcats 15; Kempsey Saints 15; Port United 13.
Camden Haven Redbacks are next with 9; Port Saints and Tuncurry-Forster 7 and Wauchope on 6.
However, the prospects of the Wauchope's Premier League reserve grade side is more promising.
Port United are currently leading this competition with 21 points two points to the better of Wallis Lake.
Wauchope is on 16 points with Kempsey Saints 14 and Macleay Valley on 12.
The remainder of the ladder sees the Redbacks on 10, Taree Wildcats and Tuncurry-Forster 8 and Port Saints 2.
In the Men's North League, the Wauchope Axemen are well behind the competition front runner Port Saints Tigers who have 18 points.
The Axemen have just six points and sit in 11th place on the ladder.
However, they could boost their for and against and their ladder standing if they can put in a good showing against the Kempsey Saints side who six two points behind them on the ladder.
That match is at Eden Street, kempsey on June 16, commencing at 2.30pm.
In the Women's Northern League, the Wauchope Waratahs will have a bye this weekend.
The Waratahs currently sit in fifth position on the ladder with 13 points.
Port United Strikers lead this competition with 21 points, two points in front of Kempsey Saints Green and Macleay Valley Rangers on 19 points. South West Rocks Stingers have 14 points.
The Waratahs' next game is on June 23 against the Port United Strikers.
