Former Wauchope golfer David Bransdon has qualified for the 118th US Open Championships.

Bransdon is one of nine Australians to compete in the major.
The championship is at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club. The first round is June 14 (US time).
Bransdon currently plies his trade on the Japan Golf tour. He qualified for the US Open with a strong second placing in a sectional qualifyer.
The long-hitting golfer will line up in the prestigious event alongside fellow Australian golfers Adam Scott, Aaron Baddeley, Matt Jones, Lucas Herbert, Jason Day, Marc Leishman, Cameron Smith and Jason Scrivener.
Now living in Victoria, Bransdon said he was not in the field to make up the numbers.
"I am a competitive person. And while I am excited about playing I will obviously do the best that I can. I am not going to put a ceiling on it (how well he will perform)," Bransdon said.
"Competing in the US Open is definitely a dream come true for me. I thought this opportunity may have slipped past me, but it hasn't.
"In preparation I will probably play two lots of 18 holes and two days of nine holes.
"I am experienced enough to know that I have to go through my processes. I have had enough experiences over the years to take on the pressures of this tournament.
"This is not my first rodeo," he added.
Bransdon says more consistent putting over the last 18 months has improved his scores.
His father Kevin 'Curly' Bransdon said his son was 'pretty excited'.
It is the first time he has reached one of the big four tournaments.

"It is the first time he has reached one of the big four tournaments," Bransdon senior said.
"I was talking to him a few nights ago and he was pretty pleased with himself. He has always wanted to qualify for one of the majors.
"He has been hitting the ball pretty well too. He is coming off the back of a pretty good 2017 and has continued that good form into the early part of this year.
"I think he is just continuing to mature more and is not so hard on himself."
His late mother Judith, was a popular member of the golf club for many years. A garden at the Wauchope Country Club is named in her honour.
According to the PGA, Bransdon turned professional in 1995 after winning a couple of amateur titles.
He had success at the Samoa Open in 1999 and 2000. This was followed by a good Tour of Australasia in 2010, winning the WA PGA Championship and runner up at the VIC PGA Championship to Alistair Presnell who shot a final round of 60.
Since then he has played well with a consistent number of strong finishes.
In 2015 he finished 2nd in BMW New Zealand open championship and 1st in the Isuzu Queensland cup.
Wauchope Men's Golf Club captain Dennis Hughes described Bransdon's qualification as 'really something else'.
"This is a fantastic achievement. We are always happy to see local golfers doing well, particularly at this prestigious event," he said.
"There will no doubt be quite a few keen golfers sitting around the tables watching the final round."
Bransdon won his first championship at Wauchope in 1986 as a 13 year old and won the men's title 12 months later.
