The radio station is a long-time organiser of the annual fundraiser in support of public hospitals at Macksville, Kempsey, Wauchope and Port Macquarie.
Since 2005, the local community has raised an amazing $559,451 in support of local paediatric and neonatal patients through the charity.
The funds have purchased medical equipment, such as vital signs monitors and ECG machines, cots and other vital equipment as well as funding a paediatric therapy courtyard at Port Macquarie Base Hospital back in 2016.
This year, the radio station is hoping GM5FKs will raise enough funds to donate a cardiotocography (CTG) machine and vein illuminator for Port Macquarie’s Special Care Nursery, a headlamp for ED, scanner and fetal monitor for Maternity and paediatric physiotherapy equipment for Kempsey District Hospital, paediatric physiotherapy equipment for Wauchope and an ultrasound machine for Macksville’s Maternity Unit.
The campaign launched on June 1 with a live broadcast from Port Macquarie Base Hospital and a GM5FKs Bowls Day at Port City Bowling Club.
Bowls competition days will get underway at Kempsey on June 9 and Macksville on June 16.
Rockin’ The Rocks Charity Gig, a music event, will take place at South West Rocks Country Club on June 23.
Mid North Coast Local Health District Corporate Relations Coordinator Sharon Fuller said the community response to GM5FKs was amazing.
“Every year, Triple M listeners show remarkable support for our young patients,” Mrs Fuller said.
“This is a charity event that supports local children and their families when they need it most.
“Give Me 5 For Kids is a strong and vital partner in the delivery of exceptional health care to youngsters on the Coffs Coast, and for that we are extremely grateful,” Mrs Fuller said.
