Past and current members along with friends of the congregation, came together for an anniversary gathering on May 6.
Pastor Robert Wiebusch led the service with the help of Bishop James Haak and Rev Dr Gordon Watson.
After the service, chairman David Pfeiffer invited all present to a special morning tea followed community lunch.
The lunch was an opportunity for reminiscing on the past and how the church has a bright future.
Founding member of the church, Joan Rayward said it was a good chance to catch up with people.
“Our church life has always been great,” Mrs Rayward said.
“We have weekly worship services led by lay readers and visiting pastors followed by a friendly cuppa, Sunday School, bible studies, fellowship outings.
“We also have Advent teas, monthly luncheons, breakfast at the beach, Sunday school picnics and barbecues at the back of the church after special services.
“I think we are a very welcoming group of people and everyone is welcome to attend our regular services at 9am on a Sunday.”
