Kicking-off on Friday June 1 and running for ten rounds, the competition will feature teams from Beechwood, Comboyne, Lower Macleay and Kendall, with the Grand-Finals taking place on August 18.
Competition Coordinator Belinda Andersen admitted is excited to see the competition begin.
“There are a lot of girls coming to the sport that have never played before, so it will be really exciting for them to give it a go,” she said.
CRL Women’s Participation Officer Kylie Hilder believes the time is right for a female tackle competition to be introduced into the area.
“The success of the Hastings League CRL Women’s Nines proved there was a strong appetite for Women’s Rugby League in the area,” she said.
“The response from teams participating in the Nines was fantastic and the time is definitely right to introduce this competition and it’s an exciting opportunity for the players involved.
“The creation of new competitions and opportunities allows more players to be part of the growing pathway for female players in the game.”
