Michelle Sharman is a consultant and director of dance for Universal Studios in West Hollywood, and co-wrote the song ‘Lost’ performed by VASSY and Afrojack, featuring Oliver Rosa.
It’s currently riding high at number one in the American billboard dance charts, moving up from number four last week to number two on April 28, passing fellow Australians, Hugh Jackman and Kylie Minogue on the way.
“Bursting. What a moment in life. I pray for more,” Michelle wrote on her Facebook page.
Parents, Ron and Heather Sharman, who live in Wauchope, are thrilled at her success.
“It’s a nice accolade for a local girl from Wauchope, NSW,” Mr Sharman said.
Heather said Michelle ‘was born to write songs’.
“From she was a tiny little girl, she has been singing and dancing. She used to use our front lawn as a stage and now she is doing that all over the world,” Mrs Sharman said.
Michelle is a good person, who does lots of charity work, and a good daughter, who comes home three times a year.

“Michelle is a good person, who does lots of charity work, and a good daughter, who comes home three times a year.
“She started writing songs about five years ago. We are very proud of her. She is a lovely girl, as well as very talented,” said Heather, adding that Michelle’s five brothers are all musical, but she is the only one who made a career out of it.
Michelle was born and brought up in Wauchope and attended St Joseph’s Primary here and then MacKillop College in Port Macquarie.
The Billboard charts tabulate the relative weekly popularity of singles or albums in the United States and elsewhere.
The results are published in Billboard magazine. Billboardbiz, the online extension of the Billboard charts, provides additional weekly charts.
The charts may be dedicated to specific genre such as R&B, country or rock, or they may cover all genres.
The weekly sales and streams charts are monitored on a Friday-to-Thursday cycle.
