The festival included workshops for students of violin, viola, cello and guitar for ensemble playing, a seminar on effective practice and a concert.
The tutors for the workshops included international guitarist Giuseppi Zangari, Professor Goetz Richter of the Sydney Conservatorium, violin expert Fintan Murphy and gifted cellist, James Larsen.
During ensemble rehearsals the leaders of each orchestral section were star musicians from the Conservatorium, who also performed a beautiful string quartet for the Sunday concert.
It was a thrill for local musicians to be part of the orchestra, particularly when playing in the Guitar Concerto.
Other exciting items included duets by Piazzolla for violin and guitar which were performed by the tutors to an appreciative audience.
The festival was supported by the Kendall Community Op Shop.
The Kendall National Violin Competition is one of the leading violin competitions in Australia.
