POLICE will continue their investigations into a neighbour dispute in Port Macquarie on February 24, that left an an 81-year-old man with severe injuries to his left hand, left forearm and left inner thigh.

On arrival, officers from the Mid North Coast Police District were confronted with a horrific scene as they found an 81-year-old man with severe injuries to his left hand, left forearm and left inner thigh.
Police have been told a large knife and a lawn mower were allegedly used during the fight between the two men. The elderly man was treated on the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital and then flown to John Hunter Hospital by NSW Air Ambulance.
A spokesperson from NSW Ambulance said the man lost fingers on his left hand.
A 72-year-old man was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station and is assisting the police with their investigation. Women were seen leaving the property comforting each other after the incident.
Mid North Coast Local Area Command established a crime scene at the location and cornered off the property.
Neighbours have responded with shock at the news with some expressing their dismay via social media at the behaviour of the senior citizens.
There are reports from neighbours that there had been an ongoing dispute between the men, over a patch of lawn.
