As the season launch theme stated this season will be “Forever” in our hearts and minds with some outstanding productions.
Boys in the Band – March 17: Celebrates the greatest hits of The Beatles, The Bee Gees, Jackson 5, Queen, Elvis, The Everly Brothers, and more.
Pirates of Penzance – April 8: The 21st and final Australian tour features Philip Gould as the pirate king and Brian Hannah as the Major General.
The 7 Sopranos – April 14: Transports you to the 1950s when Doris Day, Judy Garland and Marilyn Monroe produced hit after hit.
Sydney Writers’ Festival live from Carriageworks – May 4-6: Five one hour sessions daily, presented at Players Theatre. Conversations, debates and discussion with well known authors.
Glorious! – May 12: The true story of world’s worst opera singer Florence Foster Jenkins. Starring Diana McLean.
TEDx Sydney – June 15: A live stream of TEDxSydne. New ideas to change attitudes and spark conversation, connection and community.
Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow –June 23: Two shows feature stand-up, sketch, satire and song, from leading funny men and women.
Neighbourhood Watch – June 29: A play about an odd couple who prove it’s never too late to bridge the age, and culture gap across a suburban fence.
Afternoons Tonight with James Valentine – July 21: This ABC radio funnyman shares his best, worst and most intriguing callers’ stories.
Madame Butterfly presented by Opera Australia – August 11: Directed by John Bell, with a chamber orchestra and a local children’s chorus.
And that’s just the beginning. There’s a full program of children’s favourites, more theatre, Circus Oz, a piano recital by Julian Gargiulo, a Patsy Cline tribute, the Manhattan Short film and Sydney Comedy festivals, Rachael Beck, and From Broadway to Ballroom.
