It is wonderful parents are using the chance to download their $100 voucher to cover the cost of sports and active recreation fees. More than 100,000 vouchers have been redeemed, meaning a collective saving of $10 million in sport registration fees for parents. Active Kids is one of the ways the NSW government is easing cost of living pressures.
Parents can register online with Service NSW to receive their $100 voucher to give to their approved sport or physical activity club or organisation.
More than 7000 sport and activity organisations have already registered and we expect an influx of new sports to join the list of approved providers from March 1.
Parents have until December 31, 2018 to claim and use their voucher. For information go to sport.nsw.gov.au/activekids or call Service NSW on 13 77 88 or my office on 6584 0977.
Have your say on NSW Women Of The Year
I encourage our local community to vote for finalists for the 2018 NSW Women of the Year Awards.
Online voting is now open for five of the seven awards, with four outstanding women nominated in each category. These wonderful women have made a significant impact on the communities in which we live and work.
By recognising their achievements, we can say thank you for their contributions and inspire the future generations of women and girls to strive for success.
I urge people to read the nominee’s stories online, learn about these fascinating women, and show your support by voting before this Friday.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the International Convention Centre Sydney, on International Women’s Day - Thursday, March 8.
