Adnum has been away on holidays skiing and captain Gordon Scott was excited to have the teenager back at Oxley Oval.
“I’m really pleased to say Charles Adnum is back this week and I’ve never been so happy to have an 18-year-old back,” Scott said.
“He will slot in at four because that’s where he’s scored his runs for us.”
The Magpies captain was hopeful Adnum’s return would provide some stability to a batting order that has lost its way in the last four matches.
“I’ve been talking to everyone about what has gone wrong and no-one really knows,” he said.
“It’s effected the whole team, not just one or two players. There’s been no arguing at training, we’re all really good friends.”
Scott admitted his side had to “start from scratch” in the lead-up to the finals.
“The corner has to be turned now because the competition is that tight that one or two more losses could see any team miss out on the finals,” he said.
“Maybe we lack a little bit of self-belief.”
Scott admitted he wasn’t sure what to expect from Taree West as the only clash between the two sides was abandoned earlier in the season after 14 overs.
“We don’t know what to expect from them because our only match was washed out,” he said.
“Ben Marron was the skipper of their team last year, but that’s all we really know about them.”
