The Family Fishing Bonanza was on over three days on January 5, 6 and 7.
Terry McDermott from Lake Cathie Fishing Club said it was his first time competing at the event.
He said it was fantastic to see fishing enthusiasts of all ages participating.
“It’s great to see the young ones enjoying the outdoors rather than being stuck in front of a computer,” Terry said.
“The event promotes the Camden Haven area and is great for local businesses too.”
A large crowd gathered with their eskies in Laurieton at 1pm for individuals to weigh their catch for a chance to win a prize.
Over $3500 was available to be won across a number of categories at the event.
Categories included Mystery Bream, Mystery Flathead, For the Most Species, Heaviest of 19 Species and Heaviest Other.
There was a barbecue and the raffle was drawn, with the top fishing winners revealed and prizes handed out.
