Pellams Party is the story of Pellam, a fairy who loses her fairy flock and meets Red Roo, a kindly kangaroo.
Ms Coleman wrote and illustrated Pellams Party.
“These stories just come to me,” she said.
“They demand to be written.”
Pellams Party contains rhyming verse and illustrations.
Children can colour the border on every second page.
Ms Coleman was inspired by Australian animals and life in the bush.
“I love the behaviour of Australian animals and I really want them to survive,” she said.
Ms Coleman trained at the National Art School and worked as a high school art teacher for 30 years.
Writing is a vehicle for Ms Coleman’s illustrations.
“The painting I enjoy most,” she said.
Go the Beverley Coleman Art Facebook page for more information.
The book launch begins at 10.30am on December 2 at Port Macquarie Library.
Original artworks will be on display and a reading of the story will take place at 11am.
The book launch is part of a Christmas celebration at Port Macquarie Library on December 2 from 9am to noon.
The celebration includes a Christmas makers’ market featuring goods created by young people, as well as music and Christmas craft activities.
