The fact that females are still prepared to be judged in terms of their beauty suggests that they are happy to be viewed as objects and not people.
The fact that they were also subjected to a number of questions to allow their personalities to shine through harks back to the “good old days” of patronising beauty contests.
Without wishing to excuse the sleaziness of Trump and Weinstein, I can’t help thinking that if women wish to be treated equally and paid accordingly, they should perhaps eschew these sort of activities.
