The redeveloped Town Square, complete with reconfigured parking, opened to traffic, and the fences came down after the Town Green revamp.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council group manager recreation and buildings Liam Bulley said it was great to have both of the areas open for business.
The Town Green facelift included a path along the foreshore, new turf, lighting, seating and a reinforced rock wall.
The Town Square project delivered wider footpaths for alfresco dining, lights, seating and drinking fountains.
The square can be easily transformed into a vehicle-free pedestrian plaza for events and activities.
