The morning race was the seventh race of the spring series and was sailed in the start of the run-out tide.
After a barbecue lunch, the second race of the club championship series was run in the strengthening run out tide.
Frank O’Rourke on Dino was first on yardstick in the catamarans in the morning race, Rob Barwick on Drift was second and Dave Winter on Spica was third.
The spread-out fleet meant that the handicap placings were the same as the yardstick placings.
First on yardstick in the morning race for the monohulls was Terry Howard in Ratz ahead of Simon Gandy and Imogen Hicks in Voyager.
Stuart Symons and Caitlan Hicks were third in Big Bang, then came Steve Bohlsen in Splash Dance and Phil and Blake Lillehagen in Elmo.
Voyager won on handicap with Big Bang second, nine seconds ahead of third placed Elmo, who in turn was 23 seconds ahead of Ratz, and finally, Splash Dance.
Dino also won the afternoon’s club championship race for catamarans, Rowan Nosworthy on Return was second, then came Tony Kuhn on Stella, Drift, and Spica.
Paul Robertson and Caleb Bohlsen in Flembouyant were first in the monohull division in the club championship ahead of Ratz, Voyager, Elmo, Big Bang – this time with Eric Edge as crew, and Splash Dance.
Next Sunday is race eight of the Spring Series starting at 2pm with a handicap start.
Terry Howard is rostered on duty.
