Nominations are now open in the annual Luke O’Neill Memorial Touch Football Challenge.
The event is on Sunday November 12 at the Vince Inmon Fields, Laurieton.
Organiser Brice Hayward said the challenge was looking to build on last year’s 16 team nominations.
“We are wanting to expand the challenge to include 20 teams this year,” Hayward said.
"There are competitions for all age groups.
“And while this challenge is certainly a competitive event, we want to reiterate that it is a fun, family day.
“This day is about bringing the community together and have the chance to remember a brother, a son, and a mate who was taken way too soon.”
Funds raised from the day will be used to help a former local family who now live in West Australia but have some major health issues.
Prizes and fundraising will be held throughout the day.
“A feature of the day is the dash for cash and the novelty races,” Hayward added.
Teams of 11 – with seven on the field – can nominate with Bec on 0403 909 799 by October 29 to nominate and for more information.
The Camden Haven Junior Eagles Rugby League Club is manning the canteen while Laurieton Touch Association will provide some game referees and organise the draw.
