RFS issues total fire ban

The fire ban issued by the Rural Fire Service comes into effect at midnight.
The NSW Rural Fire Service provides the following advice under severe and very high fire conditions:
- Well prepared homes that are actively defended can provide safety during a fire
- Follow your Bush Fire Survival Plan and remain vigilant
- Keep informed by listening to local radio, watching television news broadcasts and monitoring www.rfs.nsw.gov.au.
Temperatures on September 24 are expected to hit 33 degrees along the coast and up to 36 degrees inland.
The hot weather is expected to persist throughout the week with a glimmer of rain on Thursday.
