In the 10 years we have lived at Tom’s Creek and used the Oxley Highway daily, we don’t remember any time when part of it was not being dug up by the RTA/RMS, often the same stretch repeated for no apparent result.

Last year, our journeys were disrupted by endless waits at temporary traffic lights, for run-off drains and a new access road at the Comboyne turn-off.
This involved removing all the existing road surface and constructing new road base with tarmac coating. One decent rainstorm and the potholes were big enough to get lost in. So now they are doing it all over again with resultant disruption to journeys.
I was taught as a child: ‘if a job’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well.’ Why is it that the government agencies and its contractors we fund apparently have unlimited dollars to do it, and then do it all over again?
