Callum Murray and Jack Lewis recently won the Zone 14 Champion of Champion singles crowns.
Lewis won the District singles two weeks earlier and both will head to the state finals on the Central Coast in October.
The team has a good mix of youth and experience and bowls experts believe they should be competitive.
There has been over recent times an increase in the younger bowlers joining the club with coordinator Phil baker teaching the young ones the skills of the game.
Port City Bowling Club bowls coordinator Phil Baker said there had been a shift away from bowls being known as a sport for retirees.
“We have many young stars playing the great game,” he said.
The club is changing things to encourage juniors and potential bowlers to their club and the rewards are starting to come.
Murray has been playing bowls at the club since he was 14 and has been mentored and encouraged along the way and his skills are reaching the pinnacle of success.
