Greg Cavanagh said each group received $1923.00 which is part of the approximate $14,000 that went to these and other groups as an outcome of a very successful show.
“The truck club had a big show on July 8 this year. We had an auction, and every year, all that money goes to charity.
“Last year we were able to give each group $400; this year we can give them $1,923.
“It’s a good news story of a local club making an outstanding contribution to the local community,” he added.
Bruce Cant from the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Hastings Support Group thanked the truck club on behalf of all the recipients.
“A lot of work goes into the Yesteryear Truck and Machinery Show and it’s getting better and better every year.
“The Lions Club and Westpac group also raised money through catering at the show. On behalf of all of us, we thank you very much,” said Mr Cant.
