The Kundabung cowboy, Levi Ward has scooped up lots of silverware in North Queensland.
The nine-year-old did a tour around the state and won six out of six classes at the Queensland rodeos.
His father, Levi, is thrilled at his success.
“He rode at Weengallon and got an equal first and then a first. Then we went to Collinsville and he got equal first, and we left there and went to Georgetown and he got first place there.
“We left Georgetown and went to Mareeba and he won there. Then we went to Charters Towers and he got equal first there and was named All-Round Junior Champion. He is a very happy boy and we are so proud of him,” said Mr Ward.
Two other family members are also at home on horseback. Levi’s little sister, Franki, aged seven, had four barrel races and she won all four. His big sister, Bobbi, who’s 12, had one win, one second and two thirds in barrel races.
“A whole lot of the kids were very successful in their North Queensland tour. Overall, they brought home quite a few prizes,” said Dean.
“Me and my wife, Tash went, and the three kids and two of Levi’s mates with us, so we had quite a crowd. They all had an excellent time.
“We’ve got two weeks off, because we needed a rest and then we’re off to Walgett for a full rodeo program,” added Dean.
