Following on from last week’s announcement, I have been delighted at the responses I have already received expressing interest in the next round of the extremely successful Stronger Communities Programme.

Funding and support for much needed small capital projects showcase our Coalition government’s commitment to deliver social benefits in your community. We want to lend a helping hand to small volunteer groups and organisations to build that new barbecue shelter or upgrade those old and outdated tools and technology to ensure they continue to flourish well into the future.
These groups are a central and integral part of the Mid-North Coast. Visiting the Lyne electorate I’ve seen firsthand the brilliant work they all do and I know how key they are to unlocking participation within a community. That’s why owe are pledging to see them realise their potential.
There have already been so many amazing concepts from local organisations which are flowing in fast and if you are aware of a project in need of a boost that will improve community participation, I strongly encourage you to get in contact with my office or register your interest on my website through the Community Services function.
Finally, next week I will be pleased to welcome Desert Rose to the Mid North Coast as part of the Coalition government’s fleet of Mobile Service Centres. Desert Rose is a truck set up as an office, custom-built to deliver government services such as Medicare or Centrelink payments, including access to self-service facilities. The service is a great opportunity to shorten the distance between rural and regional Australia and government services.
A staff member from Australian Hearing will also be on board to offer free hearing checks and information, plus a staff member from the Australian Taxation Office will be available to assist with general taxation enquiries. Desert Rose will be in Kendall on Tuesday, 1 August and Wauchope on Wednesday 2 August 2017.
