The battle on the pitch saw the Black snakes sneak through the defence on a break away saw them score the first goal of the night – which only made the Wolf Pack more determined in defence and saw a dramatic impact on the aggressiveness in attack.
The men dug deep and the action saw RSL Player of the Match Finn Lawrie consistently embroiled in the mid field action, pushing hard and leading well allowing defensive players Rhys Jones and Heath Thompson an offensive outlet.
Teamwork between Finn and mid-fielder Sean Burke saw lots of defensive breakdown of the Camden Haven Black Snakes play and forcing a turnover to the Wolf Pack.
This saw the Wolf Pack’s strikers consistently receiving the ball and putting pressure on the Black Snakes fullbacks and Goal Keeper with their numerous attempts on goal.
Three quick hard passes in and around the attacking D saw Matt Millward in a great position in being able to put one in behind the Goal Keeper.
The game continued on in the hard fast paced nature for both teams wanting to put one more goal on the board and break the tie. Many opportunities were had by the Wolf Pack but when the final buzzer rang it was 1-1.
Saturday also saw the reveal of the Wauchope Hockey Club’s new sponsored Umpire/Officials shirts that have been supplied to all Umpires, Coaches and Officials within the club.
Thank you to Sports & Spinal Physiotherapy clinics and Curly’s Café Wauchope for their sponsorship, which allowed us to supply these to our club officials.
