The Holiday Coast Indoor Markets in the Wauchope RSL Auditorium are on the first Sunday of every month, and the next one is on Sunday July 2.
They’re run by local business Party Professionals and the Holiday Coast Indoor Market Team. They were set up to support local stall holders and help the local community with a great market day, after significant heat and rain events earlier this year.
The Holiday Coast Indoor Markets team have now also combined forces with the Pappinbarra Grown and Gathered Markets to form the Wauchope Regional Market Day to promote and encourage community support of both events.
They happen on the same day but offer very different experiences for the market goer. Their opening times differ slightly to allow customers to spend ample time browsing at each and experiencing what the two different markets have to offer.
The Grown and Gathered Pappinbarra Community Market opens to the public from 9am until 12 at Hollisdale hall. It offers beautiful scenery, locally-produced food, coffee, home-made goods, recycled items, kids activities and handicrafts among many other wonderful treasures.
Live music is always a feature of Grown and Gathered helping to set the mood for the day. Winter markets have an open fire and lounge chairs to get comfy in for enjoying the atmosphere. Each month this market raises funds for local charities or causes, most recently the Pappinbarra fire.
Grown and Gathered is the perfect countryside brunch-style market for early risers and lovers of fresh outdoors ambience and country hospitality.
By contrast, the Wauchope RSL Indoor Markets open to the public from 10am until 2pm and have a more metro feel. While they still cater to handicraft and nature lovers, with lots of handmade and flora stalls, there’s jewellery, fashion, cleaning, organic health, wellness, pet products and fundraising stalls from local organisations and micro-businesses, with music from The Party Professionals DJ and MC.
The Wauchope RSL Indoor Markets are also having a Winter Wonderland theme for their market on July 2, with Frozen’s Elsa and Olaf making an appearance for photographs and face painting.
Looking for something else to do in the afternoon? The Royal Australian Navy Band Sydney will be performing at the Laurieton United Services Club at 4pm with the Hastings Concert Band, in support of the Rebuild Pappinbarra Appeal.
