Approximately 100 players were involved, as part of eight teams to play in honour of Jason, a police sergeant who passed away in 2014.
Port Macquarie ended up claiming the final with Coffs Harbour the runners up. But the day was all about remembering Jason and racing money for Police Legacy.
“Each year they have a memorial touch day in the west region,” organiser Dave Andrews said.
“His wife, Alison, works at the Port Macquarie police station we decided to have it here on the coast this year and it was a great success.”
The eight teams came from Coffs Harbour, Nambucca Heads, two teams from Kempsey, two teams from Port Macquarie, Manning Great Lakes and a team from the Western Region.
“We raised $2000 for Police Legacy, who assists members of police families when somebody has passed away,” Andrews said.
“I’d like to thank all the local businesses who donated prizes for raffles. There was a lot of them and we are grateful for their support. Everyone had a great time.”
