Warning to be shark smart
Port Macquarie lifeguards are advising people to be cautious after a white shark was detected three times at Lighthouse Beach on June 6.

Lifeguard James Turnham said a tagged shark can be detected within a 500 metre radius of the buoy.
Mr Turnham said people should avoid entering the water if it looks murky or if there are schools of fish around.
The shark was last detected by DPI Fisheries at 1.15pm. A shark was also detected at 1.09pm and 1.14pm.
