Regional League finals played at Macquarie Park on the weekend produced some fantastic netball from HVNA opens, HVNA 17s and our neighbouring associations.

The first semi-final played between the two home teams was quite possibly the game of the day.
The 17s were coming into the finals series on a high after a win over the opens from earlier in the rounds. Both teams played some tough, inspired netball.
The 17s led at each break with the opens having to bring their A game to the final quarter. At the final whistle the opens held on to win 41-31.
The second semi-final was easily won by Woolgoolga over Taree 52-27.
After an hour break to catch their breath, the HVNA opens took on Woolgoolga in the final, in a match-up that promised to be a physically tough encounter.
HVNA opens were looking to reverse the outcome of two losses from the preliminary rounds and they came out fighting.
With tight defence from Kellie Mann and Shannon Noble and accurate shooting from Gabby McInherney and Sally Jenkins, scores were extremely close at half time.
The centre court players tried everything but just couldn’t penetrate the defensive line.
Woolgoolga took out the Mid North Coast regional league final 55-40, with a score that didn’t really reflect the superb netball that was played.
Despite the losses that the HVNA teams had on the weekend, both teams are still in training as they prepare for the NSW state championships that are fast approaching.
Congratulations to Faye O’Neill and Gabbi Foster, both receiving national umpiring badges throughout the regional league series.
Faye earned her B badge on Sunday and Gabbi earned her C badge last weekend.
