The areas under construction include parts of Laurieton, North Haven, Camden Head, Rosewood, Wauchope, King Creek, Thrumster, Fernbank Creek and Port Macquarie.
Works for the remaining areas of Port Macquarie, Thrumster, Kew, Lakewood, Laurieton, West Haven, Kendall and Lake Cathie will take place over the second half of the year, according to state corporate affairs advisor NSW/ACT, Marcela Balart said.
“It is expected some areas of Port Macquarie will be able to progressively start making the switch to the nbn network as soon as next month and will continue through to mid-next year,” Ms Balart said.
“This is great news as it means by June 2018, construction will be complete and the region will have access to a network which is both fast and reliable; something that has been desperately needed in regional Australia for many years.
“The nbn network will help residents and businesses to be more productive, more creative, more efficient and more connected for decades to come.”
Ms Balart said that no matter where you live in the region, locals can check when the nbn network is expected to be available at their home or business by using the check your address function on the nbn website www.nbnco.com.au
People can also register their email to be notified when they’ll be able to contact their preferred retailer to order an nbn service.
