They will host Macleay Valley Rangers on Saturday at Fairmont Gardens, after Burn spent the week laid up in a hospital bed.
Earlier in the week he put his hand in a pile of wood only to be bitten by a redback spider.
“It was one of those things which made me pretty crook,” he said.
Wauchope were scheduled to play Port United on Tuesday night in a trial match, but those preparations had to be cancelled as Burn was in hospital.
It would have provided the side with their first match in six or eight weeks following their FFA Cup game against Macleay Valley.
“Every trial game we’ve had has been washed out so it’s been a pretty sh*tty pre-season,” Burn said.
“We've only trained twice in the last five weeks because of the rain and all the grounds being closed.”
The Wauchope coach said his side wouldn’t be as fit as they were before the weather intervened.
“It only takes two weeks to lose all your fitness, so we’re kind of back to where we started,” he said.
“But you can’t complain – everyone is the same.”
Saturday will be a full day of football with five games to be played which will form another page in Wauchope’s sporting history.
“We’ve been in the Premier League before, but it’s great for the club to be back,” Burn said.
First grade kicks off at 3pm.
