3.3 magnitude earthquake off Forster

 AN offshore earthquake at 6.55pm (AEST) on Wednesday, April 19 near Forster has caused a tremor in the Manning-Great Lakes area.

Geoscience Australia is reporting the earthquake at a magnitude of 3.3 and estimated the earthquake could be felt by up to 31km away. 

Old Bar, Upper Lansdowne and Harrington residents have reported movement. Some residents as far north as the Hastings region also felt the earth move.

The Joint Australian Tsunami Warning Centre (JATWC) has issued a statement based on the magnitude and location of this earthquake, the JATWC has assessed that there is no tsunami threat to the Australian mainland islands from this earthquake.
