An offshore earthquake at 6.55pm on Wednesday night (April 19) near Forster caused a tremor in the Manning-Great Lakes and Hastings areas.

The Joint Australian Tsunami Warning Centre (JATWC) issued a statement that based on the magnitude and location of this earthquake, there was no tsunami threat to the Australian mainland islands.
Residents from as far as Wauchope, Rollands Plains, Old Bar, Upper Lansdowne and Harrington reported movement.
Geoscience Australia is reporting the earthquake at a magnitude of 3.3 and estimated the earthquake could be felt by up to 31km away. However, residents 100km away in Wauchope and Rollands Plains felt tremors.
People living in parts of Wauchope and Rollands Plains said their doors and windows rattled and some said their houses and furniture shook.
