He will also be hosting a poetry reading at the Pilot Station of some of his and other local Australian poets on Friday April 7.
Nature Poetry at the Pilot Station
Workshop 1 Saturday April 1 (2 to 5pm): ‘Approaches to Nature Poetry’. Introductory discussion of the extensive variety of approaches, forms and styles of nature poetry, via investigation of specific fine examples and possibilities of the form. Focus will be mainly on Australian work.
Workshop 2 Wednesday 5 April (7 to 9pm): Further appreciation of Nature Poetry. Deeper (micro) investigation of nature poetry, finer investigation of the language and craft. Depending on interest, this workshop may incorporate discussion of the participants’ own work (either within the group, or on a one-on-one basis with the teacher).
Note: There will be some flexibility in both workshops, which might be shaped by the participants’ particular interests. At the end those who wish to, may produce some sample work focusing on aspects of the Camden Haven region.
Cost: Workshop 1 $40, Workshop 2 $30. Cost for both combined $60.
