Mr Muller arrived back in town in style riding a new motorbike he bought in Melbourne to take to his new home in Brisbane.
He rode in a group of motorbike riding enthusiasts known as the Sailor Jerry ‘Jerry Can Ride’ Tour which is travelling 2000 kilometres in 10 days.
Sailor Jerry was a tattoo artist in America who lived from 1911-1973. He had a particular style that Mr Muller wants to educate people about.
“I do Americana style tattoo and Japanese style and he did a lot of that,” he said.
“I knew about him before I was a tattooist and I’ve been working in this (industry) for about 14 years.”
Mr Muller said the bold designs and heavy black ink that was popularised by Sailor Jerry ‘lasts forever’.
“That’s why the old sailors got it and that’s why it’s still around today,” he said.
“Whereas fine line tattoos tend to fade, look washy and the sun destroys them.”
Mr Muller said he would love to come back to Port Macquarie to live one day.
He reminisced about growing up in the town when he used to skate and surf with his friends and ‘get up to mischief’.
Mr Muller said he is impressed that there are a lot more youth groups in town which are supportive of events and activities.
